The closest American things I’ve found to Lavashak, in terms
of texture, are fruit roll-ups. But in all honestly, even fruit roll-ups aren’t
an accurate representation of Lavashak. Lavashak is a fruity, leathery-looking
Persian candy that is packed with sourness. I can’t stand the sourness. It has
a weird twinge to it, but I know some people who absolutely love it.
Lavashak can be brought in unwrapped chunks, or in little wrapped packets:
Even though Lavashak is available in some specialty stores in the States, I will not miss its overwhelmingly sour and tangy taste one bit.
