Won’t Miss #1: Electrical Outlets

Electrocuted in Iran? In most cases, it’s sayonara. The voltage in Iran is high – 220 through 240 volts. Compare that to the 120 volts we have in the U.S. The outlets are two-pronged (like they are in Japan), and rounded, so I have to use a converter for my laptop plug and everything else:

Sometimes when plugging in the converter, I see a shot of electricity coming out of the outlet, which is quite… scary. I certainly won’t miss the extremely high voltage in Iran.
