“Shomal” means “north” in Persian, and Iranians use the term
to refer to the northern region of Iran. Typically, when Iranians say “Shomal,”
they mean the Caspian Sea.
Yesterday (Iran time), I got back from my trip to Shomal.
Because there wasn’t much traffic, it took about 2 hours and 30 minutes to get
there. Due to heavier traffic, however, it took a little over 4 hours to return
back to Tehran.
The road to Shomal had some amazing views:
And here’s my favorite (which I took on the return trip):
“God created Iran and then used it as His template for
Heaven," said a believer.
I will miss the incredible views on the road to Shomal.
